The recent news coverage of the stranded travellers was interesting: Some of those interviewed the intelligent and rational, described their experiences as an adventure, some, those with no sense, depicted the experience as a nightmare. Those in the latter category seemed to seek outside intervention to help. Where they asked was the government, were they asked were the airlines and why them they seemed to imply. A competition of who had the worst experience, a game of my situation trumps yours.

As a regular traveller I'm amazed that yet again BA has decided to shoot themselves in the head. The airline has long ago lost any semblance of the world's favourite. Struggling to locate luggage to traveller, or maintain punctuality... rather like an old aunt with Alzheimer's, all that was great has gone and now the only debated is when will she die and who will look after the old girl in the meantime.
