Club 101

The Afterabc Club 101 brings together a group of trendsetters and opinion makers into a community that wants not just to inform, challenge and inspire its readers, but wants to engage in conversation.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has”.  - Margaret Mead (1901- 1978)

It matters not if our interests lie in politics or cooking, in fashion or sport, books or childcare (in indeed a plethora of other topics), or as with most of us, with a little of almost everything and a lot of a few things.

It is said often, that the internet has given all a voice, nevertheless with all the noise, it is hard to be heard. Much comment that is wonderfully informed and beautifully written is subsumed in a sea of white noise. If the musing of what a ‘celebrity’ had for breakfast is your thing, Afterabc Club 101 may take a little time getting used to. The 101 Club is not all about ‘serous’ issues but it is not the place for more white noise. We give those with an interest and something of value to say, a place to be heard.

Think of Afterabc Club 101 as a catalyst, more than just the technology partner, for our role is also to create the venue and themes, inviting the first hosts and prompting an early exchange of ideas. As with many of the best ideas, the concept is simple, Afterabc Club 101 will create a series of channels and seek content and contributions from those with passion, knowledge and commitment. As the community builds, some will avidly read and contribute across multiple channels, some will simply read the thoughts of one contributor and some will chose to establish their own following within a channel. Such amorphous beginnings may concern some, but they inspire us!

The best conversations will not seek controversy, but will not shy away from it. All we ask of our participants is they don’t cry ‘fire’ in a crowded theatre. We are advocates for free speech, but we believe that the power of words should be used responsibly. We do not set out with a political or religious agenda, save to say, we respect the rights of the individual to believe and have faith in their ability to change the world.
