At Afterabc Limited, we are experienced at helping people get started with blogging.
The word "blog" is short for "weblog", and it describes a website that is frequently and easily updated, showing the most recent information first, with the ability to collect feedback from the community that reads the site.
A better definition of blogging is not about technology, it is about what the technology makes possible. Blogs are a safe, easy way to share information with the audiences about which you care.
There are millions of blogs in the world, ranging from personal journals, used to communicate with friends and family, to business blogs used to help improve communications within an organization.
Blogging began in communities that were about personal expression, and consequently blogs are usually associated with having a more 'human' or personal style than used in formal communication.
Blogs can be used to share words, text, photos, movies, audio files, and anything else that helps people communicate with each other. Blogs can be delivered to an audience wherever they are, whether at a computer, a mobile phone, or a mobile device like an iPod. (If you have heard of 'podcasting', this is how it works - you are delivering a media automatically).
A few numbers and statistics:
Research indicates that about three quarters of bloggers classify themselves as hobbyists, meaning that they report no income related to blogging, and they blog because it gives them personal satisfaction.
Many bloggers use their blog in order to "speak their minds" and or to share their experience and expertise with others, some, research suggests as many as 40 percent, would like to publish a book, and a blog is a great alternative.
About 20 percent of bloggers publish every day, but most publish 2 -3 times per week.
A blog should be a pleasure to write, and the best are a pleasure to read!!
