A picture paints a thousand words....
Using photographs can enhance greatly the look and feel of a blog, nevertheless there are a few simple rules and concepts to remember.
Many images are protected by copyrights, and without the permission of the owner of the rights, the images should not be used on your blog. (If we are informed of any copyrighted images on the Afterabc sites, we will remove the image and replace with a suitable alternative). We support free independent speech, but would urge all to respect the reasonable sensibilities of others and not upload images likely to cause extreme offense.
There is a tremendous amount of software that facilitates the manipulation of digital photographs, some of the software such as Photoshop is expensive and requires skills, but much is available for free or little cost and can be used with very little knowledge. At its simplest, the software will allow the photograph to be resized and or cropped. It is worth spending time selecting images that support the blog topic if necessary manipulate the image.
The images below illustrate how a little time can dramatically improve an image.

This photograph was taken with a small digital camera, and the resizing took about two minutes.
The image was resized using ‘Microsoft Office Picture Manager’, by opening the image in the software and clicking the picture function on the top navigation bar and then using the resize and crop functions. (Always work on a copy of the original image, so any mistakes do not spoil the original). A big image that is reduced in size will retain its quality, but a small image that is radically increased will lose resolution. Consequently it is best to work with large images that you then resize down to fit your requirements.
Uploading images to your blog is very straightforward by clicking the penultimate icon on the top line of the editor keys.
The entry screen that appears allows you to select your chosen image to be uploaded to the Afterabc Servers.
It is important to set the size and position of the image in relation to the blog, this can be done by using the input screen.
If required images can be linked to pop-ups of the ‘full size’ picture, such is great if illustrating the blog with thumb nail size images.
Photographs can also be displayed in the style of a 'Photo Album' with out text. Such is achieved by clicking the Photo Album link in the section beneath the editing fields. (If the option is not displaying, open the 'Display Options' (upper right of page) and click the photo album.
